Love comes back around.

    I'm not usually much of a low-fi fan, but an undeniable lover is making things more apparent day by day, and I must say that I really don't mind it at all.

Get active.

     Besides his masterful playing on a harp, his vocal range is chilling to the bone with passion. Some of his higher notes remind a bit of Dallas Green, which is great. I really like that super high-pitched, airy voice.

     I'll fucking punch the next person that thinks a mustache has such immense comedic value. 

Old but good.

     Minus the Bear has always and will always be one of my favorite indie bands. Frontman Jake Snider is clearly a drunk, horndog and in my opinion a lyrical master. This song, among many of their others, is so wonderfully filled with texture, sophistication and style. A lot of people I know sort of dump on Minus the Bear now because of their inevitable rise in popularity, but this is one band that I will never be too critical of. Highly Refined Pirates was an essential piece of my high school experience and through my early twenties. Their songs generally garner an inspiringly brave and romantic feeling. Someday all these great love songs will mean something more to me again, but even without being in some sappy relationship, I thoroughly appreciate MTB's entire catalog. 

Heard:

    John Gourely's vocals are definitely reminiscent of other eras while maintaining a contemporary clarity. All in all their stuff is very thoughtful and well written and I must say I'm quite fond of some of the prose thrown around in their albums. 

Reachangement

Not drinking is my new favorite pastime. With drinking being a close second. And then probably playing guitar or surfing. And then probably sex. Think about that when we hang out.
